Daughter to a gifted musician, Orange was brought up in a home that taught communication through sound and music even before a full grasp of verbal language. In her adolescent years, she studied music theory, classical piano, & began experimenting with beat making / production around the age of 13. She attributes her broad-based musical catalogue to the love for her native Houston, Texas’ distinct sonic influence on hip-hop, the exposure to live, exotic and classic genres from her parents, & an insatiable thirst for new discoveries that began in the early p2p file sharing days.
With projects like her diverse Soundcloud mixes, & Sliced/Slowed Remixes (one of which; a much-buzzed-about chopped rework of “Drugs You Should Try It” has reached well over 2.5 million streams), she’s made quick progress in the DJ field and amassed endorsements by the likes of Travis Scott, Kevin Durant, John Legend (who reposted her Spain in September mix to his soundcloud page) etc.. Serving as an eclectic resume of sorts, the music posts garnered the attention of national & international event promoters, label execs, and corporate groups alike; providing Orange notable & international opportunities before management or representation. She’s had organic features on music blogs including 2 Dope Boyz, Hop New Hip Hop, & Fader during SXSW. Several flagship stores including Opening Ceremony, 424 on Fairfax, Popular Demand, DOPE, and Blvck Scvle use her mixes as the house-music played in-store during business hours.
In the short career span of 2.5 years, she has headlined events in Cardiff, Wales; Paris & Nantes, France; Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; Toronto, Ontario; Los Angeles, Manhattan, Nashville, Cambridge, Boston, Miami, Houston, Austin, Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, opened for Skrillex at the Ace Hotel Theatre LA, and Outkast during Adweek in NYC.
Orange is currently the reigning champion of McDonalds x Complex’s National ‘Flavor Battle’ DJ competition. She is also the Host and DJ of her own radio show ‘THE JUICE’ via DASH Radio, with guests that have included (Keith Powers, Justine Skye, Vince Staples, Anne Marie, Jojo, Gnash, Maggie Lindeman, & Quincy); will appear as the host DJ on VH1’s New Show - Hip Hop Squares & has curated the music for SwimWeek Runway shows 2 years running in both LA and Miami.
In February 2017 she was named among the DeLeón 100, a curated list of music industry trailblazers identified by Sean “Diddy” Combs in partnership with Billboard and DeLeón Tequila. The same month she joined Digital Marketing Agency - Kitten Galore as an ambassador and influencer.
